Jacco started his musical career at the age of 16 playing at the attic of his parents with an old time school friend which he knew since the age of seven. That skinny, funny looking guy played guitar and hated the electronic and artificial 80’s sound which was popular those days. The blues virus had won from popular pop/rock bands, for being more genuine, pure from the heart.

Soon Jacco’s interest spread from the typical Chicago blues of Buddy Guy, to other blues styles of BB King, Albert Collins, Lonnie Brooks and even bands like the Paladins. In 90’s that same skinny funny looking guitar player introduced more modern, contemporary blues influences like gospel, soul and funk with Joe Louis Walker and Lucky Peterson.

Being an autodidact, new grooves and specifically shuffles were adapted and optimized, earning his nickname Shuffle Jack Hill (SJH). Almost 35 years later SJH has been fortunate to have played with guys like Henry Oden, Craigh Horton, Lurrie Bell, Sax Gordon, Joe Louis Walker, RIP Lee Prior and Preston Shannon to name a few. Still eager and hungry though for new adventures in the blues.

For those who wonder: that skinny, funny looking guy is still his band leader: Fat Harry Dorth.
